Little tricks for rooting azalea cuttings: they root and sprout quickly at home, and bloom abundantly and beautifully

Azalea, also called yingshanhong, can bloom especially brightly and beautifully even when wild in mountain forests with no one tending it. In green belts and parks, azaleas can also grow into small trees, blooming in sheets, so growing azaleas well is actually quite easy. If you want to grow a pot of azaleas at home, you can propagate a pot from cuttings using branches.
How do you take azalea cuttings?
1. Cutting time: the most suitable time is late spring and early summer, because the branches at just this time are neither woody nor too tender.
2. Select a branch about 7 cm long and remove most of the leaves.
3. Prepare the cutting medium, preferably sandy soil, or red clay soil from the mountains, as this is more favorable for rooting.
4. Before cutting, dilute rooting powder and carbendazim, and soak the cutting in it; doing this will make roots grow faster.
5. After cutting, water thoroughly, then cover it with a layer of plastic film or a plastic bag, and place it in a semi-shaded spot with weak light.
6. Once it has sprouted and grown roots, remove the plastic film and let it receive normal light.
7. The best soil for azaleas is pine leaf soil from the mountains or pine needle leaf mold, but it is not picky about soil; ordinary soil can grow it very well.
8. When caring for azaleas normally, watering is fairly key: there must be no waterlogging, but you definitely must not go many days without watering, as that will cause the branches to dry out from lack of water. So when you see the potting soil is dry, replenish the water in time.
9. Actually, fertilizing azaleas is not important; occasionally watering with a small amount of organic fertilizer water a year is enough for its growth and flowering.
10. Azaleas actually grow quite fast. If the plant is too large and the pot is too small, you can repot it. When repotting, it is best to plant it with the soil ball, that is, the original soil, so it is easier for it to adjust to the pot, recover faster, and grow better.
