Pothos is an evergreen trailing plant and one of the most popular green plants for indoor growing. A healthy pothos has very dense vines and a strong tolerance for shade, and its leaves have a fine gloss. Pothos can not only add decorative touches to the living environment but also purify toxic gases in the air, making it an ideal indoor foliage plant. Having said all that, what varieties will we come across when buying pothos? Today we will introduce several common types of pothos.

1. Golden Pothos (yellow-leaf pothos)

This pothos gets its name from its leaves, which are a pale yellow, like a sheet of glistening gold. The leaves are relatively thin in texture and have no spots, looking very clean. During its vigorous growth period, this pothos has fairly high water requirements. Besides routine watering, you also need to frequently spray water on the leaves and the surrounding environment to keep the humidity level up, so as to ensure the glossiness of the leaves. When caring for it, placing it on a windowsill is an ideal spot; under weak light, the yellow leaves look even more golden and dynamic.

2. Jade Pothos (green-leaf pothos)

This is the variety with the most emerald-green leaves among pothos varieties. All its leaves are jade green, with no color spots or markings at all. However, when caring for this pothos, you must prune it regularly to keep the plant looking neat and attractive.

3. Satin Pothos (star-point vine)

Satin Pothos has the strongest climbing ability among pothos types, and its climbing performance is not to be underestimated. As long as there is something beside the pot, it can cling to it and grow rapidly, whether it is a tree trunk, a wall or a rockery. Although its climbing ability is strong, it does not affect its suitability as a potted plant. The leaves of this pothos are fairly fleshy, and the leaf shapes are mostly round or long heart-shaped. Since it is called star-point, spots are naturally indispensable: on the fuzzy leaves there are silvery spots, and the leaf color is relatively light.

4. Marble Queen Pothos (white golden pothos)

This pothos is a choice variety for horticultural cultivation and also an excellent choice for bathrooms. The surface of Marble Queen Pothos leaves is relatively smooth, and it has comparatively good shade tolerance. If placed in a high spot, its vines will hang down freely, and when its stems and leaves hang down from above, the leaves gradually become longer and smaller, reducing the problem of taking up space.

Growing a pot of pothos indoors can give you a feeling of being out in nature. There are quite many pothos varieties, so when buying you can choose the types you like to decorate your living environment. A special reminder here for friends: when growing pothos, do not place it in strong direct sunlight, as this will cause the pothos to die.
