In this season that is so hot you do not even want to complain about it, very few succulent lovers should still choose leaf propagation, but recently some succulent lovers have still been asking what to do about stalled growth in leaf propagation. So the hard-working editor-in-chief definitely cannot just sit by and ignore it!

Stalled growth means the seedlings have not grown for a long time, the surface has no luster, and the leaves are somewhat wilted but they are not dead yet

Sometimes succulent lovers may mistakenly think this is caused by slow growth or dormancy of the succulent plant, but we succulent growers cannot be too carefree.

Stalled growth can lead to blocked root development, delayed leaf emergence, stunted growth and other phenomena. Although it is not very serious, it cannot be ignored, otherwise your succulent will never grow up, or may even die. When encountering this kind of situation, it is better to treat it early.

First, let us look at the causes of stalled growth in succulents. Only by knowing the source can you prevent it

Generally, factors such as lack of water, too large a pot, and excessively high temperature may cause this phenomenon.

Solutions:

1. Mix the prepared succulent growing soil into moist soil, then use tweezers to dig out the seedlings

2. Plant the seedlings into the pre-prepared moist soil

3. After transplanting, let the pot settle for a few days before watering. After transplanting, the seedlings can resume growth

The editor-in-chief will also take the opportunity to ramble a bit about the issues that should be noted during leaf propagation:

Leaf propagation is generally more suitable in spring and autumn, and a temperature between 18°C and 25°C is better,

First, you can check whether the sprouting end of the leaf has dried up, then whether the ambient temperature where the leaf is placed is suitable. During leaf propagation, attention should be paid to ventilation. At the beginning of leaf propagation, it should be kept in a place with diffused light, avoiding direct sunlight.

For newly leaf-propagated seedlings, small pots are better during the growth period. Do not plant them directly in a large pot, as this will "hang the seedlings" and cause stalled growth.

They should first be planted in a suitable small pot, and after they grow, they can be moved to another pot. In addition, during the growth process of succulent plants, depending on the variety and plant size, they should be repotted once every 1 to 2 years or 3 years (some varieties of seedlings can even be transplanted several times a year, which is the so-called move a little, grow a little).

That is all about stalled growth in succulents. If succulent lovers still have other questions, be sure to leave a message for the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief will read them all. We all need to grow our succulents well together~
