How to grow a Peace Lily well? Master these care methods

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
To grow a Peace Lily well, pay attention to the following four aspects: First, light - give it plenty of sunlight, but not harsh direct sun. Second, watering - water it promptly, and in high temperatures spray some water on the leaves to make the growing environment more humid. Third, pruning - choose to prune during the growing season, just cut off the excess branches and leaves. Fourth, repotting - repot in spring, and the new pot should have good breathability.

1. Light

The Peace Lily likes sunlight, so if you want to grow it well, you need to let it receive plenty of sunlight, but it cannot be exposed to harsh direct sun, especially in hot summer weather; if you do not provide shade properly, the leaves will easily get scorched. In winter you can let sunlight shine on it directly without shading it.

2. Watering

Proper watering can make the Peace Lily grow better. It likes humidity, so water it promptly. If it is summer or in a high-temperature environment, you can appropriately spray some water on the leaves to make the growing environment more humid. In winter, wait until the potting soil is dry before watering. There must not be standing water in the pot, as this easily causes root rot.

3. Pruning

It is best to choose to prune during its growing season. After pruning at this time, new branches will soon grow. Just cut off the excess branches and leaves. When pruning, the temperature can be kept at around 20°C. When pruning, the distance from the cut to the bud eye can be a bit larger, otherwise it may wither due to water loss. The cut should not be torn; it should be relatively smooth.

4. Repotting

Repot in spring. The flower pot should have good breathability, and its size should be appropriate. First, dig open the soil and pull up the Peace Lily; it is best if the roots have a soil ball. Then place it into the new pot, making sure the roots have large-area contact with the soil. After about a week, fertilize.
