How do you grow succulents so they thrive?
1. Light
If you want to grow succulents well, you also need to let them grow in a comfortable environment. Light is key and must be plentiful, and proper ventilation is essential. Plenty of sunlight also makes them more ornamental; if the sunlight is insufficient, the distance between the leaves will stretch out and they will become less attractive.
2. Watering
Never water too much or too little. If you water too much or too often, the roots will rot very easily. When watering, pour along the edge of the pot, and never pour it in the center. Do not water in hot weather; if you water at noon on a hot day, the water will become very hot, which will cause the roots to suffocate and rot.
3. Fertilizing
Fertilizing is generally done on a morning or evening with good weather. Improper fertilizing will seriously affect its growth. Generally, during the peak growing period, fertilize once a month. If it is newly planted or weak-growing, there is no need to fertilize; in the hot summer or cold winter, there is also no need to fertilize, because it is in a dormant state at that time.
4. Care
As the seasons change, the care method must change too. When summer temperatures are high, it is best to place it in a ventilated, dry spot, to avoid dying from stuffy heat and excessive moisture, and do not let it be exposed to the scorching sun. In winter, the lowest temperature must not fall below 8°C, and the daytime temperature should be kept above 15°C, so that it can grow normally.
