What is the best way to grow Anthurium? A detailed guide to Anthurium care methods
1. Watering
In spring and summer, water once every 1-2 days, and in autumn and winter, water once a week. It is best not to water at night, because it may freeze the roots and stems. When the temperature is high, you can appropriately spray some water in the morning; when it is blooming, there is no need to water too much, and when it rains, you can place it outdoors.
2. Light
It does not like strong light, but it cannot be kept completely in a shaded place. If the sunlight is strong, you can appropriately shade it. In winter, when the temperature is low, you can place it in a spot exposed to sunlight. Appropriate sunlight can promote photosynthesis.
3. Pruning
During its growth, promptly cut off old leaves and diseased leaves. Cutting off old leaves is beneficial to the growth of new leaves. After the petioles become dry and withered, they should also be pruned promptly. After the flower stalks turn yellow, they also need to be cut off, and you should try to cut them off from 2 cm above the base. If too many flower buds grow from the same root system, you can appropriately cut off the flower buds on the side branches, which can better reduce nutrient consumption.
4. Repotting
After it has grown for a period of time, in order to avoid affecting its growth, it should be repotted into a new pot. Turn the Anthurium pot upside down and tap the bottom lightly, use your fingers to push the plant out, place it into new potting soil, water it thoroughly, and place it in a shaded spot. It does not need watering within a week, and no fertilization is needed one month after repotting.
