Growing vegetables in a few plastic bottles saves the most space, and you can grow as much as you want to eat

The balcony is not big, so wanting to grow some vegetables makes it a bit hard to spread out. I always feel there is not enough space, and there are many vegetables I want to grow but have no way to plant. You see, some gardening friends use common plastic bottles from daily life to grow all kinds of vegetables, and they do not take up space either. You can grow as much as you want to eat.
As gardening equipment for growing vegetables, plastic bottles are mainly easy to find and save money, and another thing is that they do not take up space. Any drink bottle can be used for growing vegetables after a little modification.
Generally, grow some fast-growing scallions, garlic sprouts, and all kinds of leafy vegetables, such as celtuce, baby bok choy, water spinach, and so on. Plant several bottles, and then when you usually eat noodles or stir-fry a small vegetable dish, you will have some.
Of course, when growing vegetables in plastic bottles, you can also choose to grow them vertically or horizontally according to the size of the bottle itself.
Whether the plastic bottle is large or small, we can first place the bottle on the ground to compare and measure, and find a suitable opening position. The opening size should be good for adding soil and should not look too shallow, otherwise the vegetables will not grow well in shallow soil.
However, if you plan to let the vegetables grow directly inside, you must poke a few drainage holes in the bottom of the bottle.
Some gardening friends are even more impressive. They fix the bottles on the wall, and after adding soil they can be connected in a row. After planting vegetables, besides not taking up space, they are also very ornamental.
Besides growing vegetables in plastic bottles, you can even grow some fruits, or grow some flowers and green plants, which is also quite nice.
