Fellow plant lovers, do you ever feel like putting your plants out on the balcony? Of course you do. Watching them bask in the sun at their leisure, watching them enjoy the breeze in comfort, as long as the plant is happy, your heart feels just lovely.

But, fellow plant lovers, did you know? Some plants cannot be kept out on the balcony, because they fear the sun and love a cool, airy environment. You cannot give them strong direct sun; to them it is simply torture!

So which plants cannot be placed on a balcony in direct strong light? Let us take a look together:

1. Epiphyllum (night-blooming cereus)

Many plant lovers have heard of the great name of the epiphyllum, blooming in the middle of the night, and only for a fleeting moment, mysterious and alluring! This delicate epiphyllum is very afraid of strong light.

It should be placed in a spot with partial shade, needing a ventilated, breathable environment, with soil that drains well, is loose and fertile, and kept moist. It cannot be put on a south-facing balcony in direct sun; it burns easily, and may even die.

2. Lucky bamboo

Lucky bamboo carries excellent meaning: wealth and peace. Lucky bamboo is mostly grown in water, placed in the living room, with a clean bottle of clear water and fresh green leaves and stems, very beautiful.

It should be placed in a ventilated spot in the living room with a bit of diffused light; it cannot be put on a balcony in direct strong light, as it easily turns yellow-leaved, and then it is no longer attractive. Add water in the right amount, add a little nutrient solution each month, to ensure its growth needs

3. Asparagus fern

Asparagus fern is a fairly common green plant. On the tips of its slender, delicate stems, the fluffy leaves spread out freely, fine and delicate yet not lacking in stubbornness! Asparagus fern likes a partially shaded environment and diffused light. If you give it direct strong light, the leaves burn easily, curl and scorch, which is very bad for its growth.

It is best to place it in a spot with diffused light in the living room or on a north-facing balcony. The environment should be ventilated and breathable, the soil loose and fertile with good drainage, kept moist, watered as soon as it dries out, and never waterlogged. During the growing season, apply cake fertilizer or decomposed fertilizer once or twice a month.

4. Anthurium

Anthurium, passionate and bold, bright and lovely. Many plant lovers adore its passion and like to keep one at home. Anthurium loves a warm, humid environment and fears drought. Never expose it to strong sun, as the leaves burn easily, turn yellow and withered, and it may even die.

Normally it should be placed in a spot with diffused light, keeping the soil moist with good drainage, avoiding waterlogging, and fertilizing appropriately to ensure the plant's growth needs.

5. Rubber plant

The rubber plant is mainly grown for its foliage, with broad, spreading leaves and a sturdy, honest form. Some plant lovers like it very much, placing it indoors, beautiful and endearingly cute, very charming.

The rubber plant likes a warm environment, tolerates shade and fears cold. The soil should be loose and fertile with good drainage, kept moist, and it should be grown in diffused light. It cannot take direct strong light, as the leaves burn easily. Fertilize appropriately to ensure sufficient nutrients.

6. Pothos

Everyone is very familiar with this one, right? It likes an environment with scattered light. If you put it in strong light, the leaves scorch within a few days. So to grow pothos well, give it an environment with plenty of scattered light and loose, breathable soil, keep the soil moist during the growing season, fertilize once every half month, and it will grow like crazy, with leaves green and lush every day

There are many other flowers that are not suited to the strong light of a balcony, such as Christmas cactus, hydrangea, water-grown pothos, peace lily, and so on, many kinds.

Only by understanding a plant's habits can you grow beautiful flowers. May the plants you grow reach new heights every month and fill their pots every year!
