Today we're announcing something important: Tianlang Rose has a logo of its own.

Like a rose from sprouting to blooming, like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly -- over the 9 years you've all been with us, we've gradually grown up. More and more, we need a brand-new logo to express who we are.

Actually, we had been exploring this all along, but the results always felt like they were missing something; until a few days ago, after discussing and communicating with a designer who is a passionate rose lover, her design won us over instantly:

The designer says it represents moving forward together with roses, brave and fearless

Here is her design story:

After reading it, you'll understand why we fell in love with it at first glance!

Designer/Text and Images: Tao Ying

When I first fell into the rose rabbit hole,

I often watched Tianlang's videos teaching everyone how to grow flowers,

Later I joined flower friend groups, and kept reflecting and learning through practice,

Now my small balcony and rooftop have been filled by me with over 70 pots of different rose varieties.

I originally work in industrial design, and logos and graphic design are not my forte.

But out of my love for roses,

I felt that being able to design a logo for a company that loves roses just as much,

and this company would keep using this logo to spread their philosophy of pursuing outstanding Chinese rose breeding,

would be a very interesting,

and very meaningful thing to do.

At the beginning, I discussed the company's name with Tianlang for a long time,

and how to find a suitable English name gave us a headache for a long time,

The key point of struggle was: a company that grows roses and flowers,

why is it called Tianlang? How do you translate Tianlang into English?

Then, I got a very serious and candid answer from Tianlang:

"Tianlang means the wolf in the sky, not an ordinary wolf."

"Because we want to be a leading wolf in horticulture."

Tianlang is the online name he gave himself, and now it is also a company with personal charisma and culture as its core,

So, Tianlang Rose seemingly has no connection to roses,

but because of Tianlang's personal core leadership,

it makes Tianlang Rose -- Tianlang's rose -- very suitable as the company's name,

In addition, Tianlang Rose has already used this name for a long time,

and it has gained recognition in everyone's hearts,

So the Chinese name was easily settled,

It's still called Tianlang Rose -- a leading wolf.

The English name was more of a headache,

After all, "the wolf in the sky" can't be translated directly,

WOOF ROSE is a wolf on the ground,

Could it be called SKY'S WOOF ROSE? Anyone who knows a bit of English would probably laugh themselves to death,

Tianlang actually said that being funny is fine, it's easy to remember, look at Apple and Xiaomi, they're big companies too~

The point is that it's not just funny, it's a bit silly... and of course a company being "silly" is not good,

And the name is so long, it doesn't fit our concept of simplicity,

Invincible Wolf "invincible wolf rose"

Sirius Rose "Sirius rose"

……

After thinking of a whole bunch of names,

Finally, we decided: take the pinyin of the Chinese character "wolf" -- LANG,

As a Chinese person, it's a name that brings a sense of pride,

The English name is "LANG ROSE",

Let foreigners guess.

Since it's Tianlang Rose LANG ROSE,

So I hope that the moment everyone sees this logo, they think of ROSE,

Naturally, I thought of using the process of a rose blooming as a metaphor for Tianlang Rose,

When a rose blooms, the petals slowly open layer by layer from the center outward,

This is very close to how a company accumulates bit by bit, climbs the ladder,

and finally succeeds -- it's a very similar process,

To quote something Augustine once said,

"Progress is not a straight path, but a spiral path, advancing after stagnation, with gains and losses, with giving and receiving."

This spiral staircase and the blooming of a rose perfectly symbolize a company's desire to keep progressing,

and its wish to be the leading wolf in roses,

Because this kind of growth is endless and always moving forward.

Therefore, the LOGO I designed,

Graphically, it starts from a tangle of messy lines,

slowly blooming from the center,

turning into a simplified graphic of a rose spiraling upward;

For the text, I chose the simplest Chinese and English,

which also combines well with the pyramid shape,

becoming a stable triangular form.

Using its highlight and shadow effects,

I made two different sets of logo applications.

In terms of color, I started from the rose itself,

choosing the green of the leaves and the pink of the petals as the base colors,

while the textured metallic color comes from the watering cans and shovels we gardeners use to tend roses, these gardening tools;

The first: green series

Using the deep and light layers of rose leaves and the flower blooming from the center,

I made one of the themed brochures,

The second: pink series

And the other pink set is gentler and more romantic,

It's a backup option made specifically for the business cards of female employees.

This is my attempt at combining white sketch hand-drawing of roses,

to create a new packaging application,

If Tianlang Rose's packaging boxes became like this,

Would you like it?

Application of the logo on the walls of the office and reception room

That's all for now,

Some others are still being designed...

I hope I'll have the chance to share more with everyone later.

As a true rose fanatic,

Finally, let me share my treasures with everyone~

When we finalized the logo, our hearts were leaping with joy and deeply moved. There is nothing more worthy of pride than a brand design coming from one of our own flower friends!

The designer's love for roses, her understanding of what we do, and her expectations for the future of the horticulture industry, together form -- the most perfect brand logo in our minds:

Moving forward together with roses, brave and fearless.

Although in the article the designer is low-key and modest, she is actually truly talented:

Last, last, last, I also want to say "thank you" to you who are reading this article!

To

Dear you

I hope that starting today, when you think of us,

It's no longer just a simple shop selling roses, and no longer just a small blurry "Caidie" avatar;

but a wolf with ambition and even more action, the leading wolf of the rose industry!

Thank you to each and every one of you, in your own way, whether by sharing and spreading the word, giving feedback on varieties, or offering suggestions, designing the brand logo... more and more of you are joining this beautiful horticultural undertaking we are engaged in! Thank you very much!

In the future, whether enriching our products, providing services, or conveying our philosophy, we will hold ourselves to higher standards, while never forgetting our original intention!

-- The Tianlang Team

END

(Follow-up: With our super strong drive to act, we have already used the designer's work to register a trademark, but because "rose" is an industry term, it cannot be used for registration, so later we changed the trademark name to "lang rosa." "rosa" represents the entire genus Rosa, a broader scope than "rose," and it fits our actual situation even better!)
