Many people love growing flowers, but gardening techniques are not all the same. Everyone may have their own unique methods for making flowers grow big and vibrant. My mother-in-law is a very resourceful person. She actually used onions to grow flowers. At first, none of us believed it. Unexpectedly, 2 months later, the flowers were big, vibrant and extremely beautiful!

Onion is actually a good thing. It can not only kill pests on flowers, but also help keep them fresh, making the flowers more vibrant.

Specific Method

Take one onion, chop it up, soak it in clean water overnight, then filter out the onion. When watering flowers, dilute the onion water 20 times for root watering, and dilute it 10 times for spraying on the leaves. You can do this 1 to 2 times a month, alternating between root watering and leaf spraying. Then the flowers that bloom will be both vibrant and large, and it can also kill pests, diseases and insect eggs.

When flowers are free from pests and diseases, they also grow more and more vigorously. For example, Chinese roses, camellias, azaleas, clivias, gardenias and so on can all use this water. Moreover, onion is a common food in the home, easily available, convenient and practical!

But if you want to grow flowers well, although the methods are not all the same, there are still many things in common. Here is what I would like to share with everyone:

Take flower soil, for example. When choosing flower soil, we must choose loose soil with good drainage. Generally, most flowers are suited to acidic soil, so the pH of the soil is also very important.

Watering

When watering flowers in summer, do it in the morning and evening, not at noon. If the soil permeability is poor and water accumulates, bacteria can multiply very easily under high temperatures, and root rot can easily occur!

For watering in winter, you can choose to do it at noon. Morning and evening are relatively cold, so watering at noon makes it less likely to freeze the flower roots.

There is also a trick to the water used for flowers. For tap water, let it sit for 2 to 3 days before use to filter out chlorine and bleaching powder, which can prevent the soil from becoming compacted. Also, if you have time, you can collect some rainwater to water the flowers. Rainwater is acidic and is beneficial rather than harmful to plants.

Fertilizing

When fertilizing flowers, remember to apply thin fertilizer frequently. Never apply too much fertilizer at once, as it can easily cause fertilizer burn. Generally, fertilize during the growing season, or in the early stage before flowering and bud formation. For flowers in dormancy, do not fertilize anymore. At this time, it is like a person sleeping: if they do not rest well, they will have no energy the next day.

Light

All things cannot do without light. A very small number of plants are very shade-tolerant, such as pothos. But even pothos needs to be exposed to sunlight occasionally for photosynthesis. If you want flowers to grow well, light is indispensable; it is only a matter of how much!

When it comes to growing flowers, what good methods do fellow flower lovers have?
