The "rose garden" on the terrace, enjoying flowers and delighting the heart!

A happy empty tin can - I never bought a suitable vase, so I used this empty tin can as a vase throughout the whole flowering season.

Magic Radiance: also a potted variety bought in May; the flower quantity is not as good as Ballet and Big Landlord, but it keeps one flower open for a long time, with bud after bud following along. The single-flower blooming period is within an acceptable range, about three or four days, after which it loses its luster and shatters in about seven days. The color is golden-red, the flower shape is not very good, and the petals in the center are scattered and irregular.

Below is how it looks in the later blooming stage:

Dream Halo: after planting in May, it had constant black spot. Black spot disease that could almost be cured on other varieties with one spray dragged on until July and still had not healed. Right next to it, Joan of Arc had no black spot at all, showing the difference in resistance clearly. This variety's blooming period is decent; one of mine bloomed for seven or eight days, then began to turn into a big flat pancake in the last two or three days, with the color scattering. But the initial opening is still very beautiful, with the outer petals peach-red and the inner petals apricot.

.。。。。。。。。。。。

Monet: I have always been indifferent to striped roses; this was an impulse purchase during the spring spending season. But it still has advantages: the flowers are large and the blooming period is long, almost nonstop from the first bloom to now. Although it turns into a big flat pancake later, the single-flower blooming period is still quite long.

My Heart: it came to me as a gift, and the plant has not grown strong yet, so for now it has not opened to the size described in the introduction. But overall it is still very good; it has bloomed continuously since I got it. When it first opens, it feels like there are very few petals, but when the outer petals open, the inside is densely packed with inner petals, forming a beautiful pink and tender bun shape. If it blooms a bit larger next year, it will be perfect.

Parade: I have a special feeling for this one. It was the first climbing rose I knew, and also the first Suqian-brand rose I bought as a newcomer, yet I failed with it again and again. This one, obtained as a gift last year, finally survived. After winter I applied heavy fertilizer, and this spring it produced a large amount of flowers, but the summer flowers are unbearable to look at. This may be common to climbing roses, because the spring flowers take too much out of them, and the following summer and autumn are almost unwatchable. They are not as good as those potted roses, which even in midsummer bloom large and vivid.

There are quite a few other roses too, but for various reasons they have not bloomed well for now. Still, I keep photos as records for future comparison.

Gentle Coral Heart: a variety I really like. Although only one flower opened, and it was not standard, it greatly boosted my confidence, and I have high expectations for it.

Golden Coral Heart: the first flower is very small, so for now I cannot see any advantages. It should be a very easy variety to recognize; the outer petals of the Coral Heart series are all very distinctive.

Japanese Mary Rose: this variety is famous for its ugly plant shape, and it truly lives up to its reputation. It naturally has sickly-looking wrinkled and curled leaves, with white spots that look like disease but not quite disease. But the advantage is that the flowers are extremely photogenic; even a casual phone photo looks especially beautiful. It is a naturally photogenic variety, and the single-flower blooming period is very long, no problem lasting a week. Unfortunately, when the first flower opened at its most beautiful moment, the camera was not at home, and when the second flower opened, it lacked the signature white edge, and the color difference was considerable.

。。。。。。。。

Golden Celebration: an old-brand variety, planted between Pink Dragon and Red Dragon, with Clematis Lyon Village and Excellence beside it. It was a medium seedling planted last year and did not bloom in spring. In early summer it burst out a long shoot, and then kept producing all kinds of small buds. I kept only one to see, and pinched off every other one as soon as I saw it. They were really too small and did not open well. It is better to save strength for a burst of spring flowers next year.

Purple Robe and Jade Belt: a variety of more than 200 years naturally has its advantages. Planted in early spring, it burst out shoots in early summer and then opened two flowers, with a strong fragrance. It is currently the most fragrant variety I have. I look forward to it climbing next year.

.......。。。

Charlotte Girl: because I was dissatisfied with its too-short blooming period, I did not pay much attention when covering it last winter, and it was at the edge of the cotton quilt, so it got frozen and lost half its life. Unexpectedly, when buying seedlings in spring, a seller gave me a Charlotte Girl as a gift. It is still a very weak seedling for now, but the flower is still good. I am still worried about its too-short blooming period.

。。。。。。。。。

At present I also have College that has not bloomed, and a Prince that came as a mislabeled variety. Its black-red flowers are larger than expected, and I also missed photographing it because the camera was not at home.

Another most important one is Dragon Fruit. In May I carried one back from the old gardener's base to Inner Mongolia. At present it has the thickest growth, and its flowers are famously extremely slow. When I first saw the bud, it took nearly a month before the bud even began to take shape. Now nearly another month has passed, and only 4 outer petals have opened. Look at this speed; it really seems ready to bloom until the year of the donkey and the month of the horse. In the future I must give it a separate post. Here I will just upload a few photos.

Very beautiful flowers. Life becomes happier and better because of these beautiful flowers! Growing flowers is something done for one's own joy. People who love flowers and enjoy them feel beautiful in mood when they see beautiful flowers!
