Spider plant is an excellent indoor foliage plant and also a good indoor air purifier. Moreover, spider plant has a very strong ability to absorb toxic gases. Most importantly, it is very easy to grow, making it a great choice for beginners. Although spider plant is easy to grow, there are quite a few problems encountered in daily care, and the most common one is dried leaf tips.

Causes of blackened, scorched, and dry spider plant leaf tips:

1. The main cause is humidity issues. Air that is too dry or potting soil that is too dry will cause leaf tips to turn black and scorch.

2. Being kept in a dark corner for a long time can also cause leaf tips to dry out.

3. Too much dust on the leaf surface, which prevents the plant from carrying out photosynthesis, can also cause leaf tips to turn black and dry.

How to deal with dried tips on spider plant:

1. Remove the withered leaves of the spider plant and promptly trim off the dried tips.

2. Provide proper care and increase air humidity for the spider plant. You can place a few stones in the saucer at the bottom of the pot, then pour in water and set the pot on top of the stones.

3. Having strong rhizomes is a necessary condition for the healthy growth of spider plant. It needs a pot with good drainage and suitable capacity, as well as loose, well-draining fertile soil. Spider plant is not suitable for growing in shallow pots. Its root system grows in clusters, so choosing a bucket-shaped, relatively deep container is most appropriate.

4. Spider plant also needs fresh air and requires a ventilated environment with bright light. Poorly ventilated environments also tend to cause dried tips.

Spider plant likes a warm, humid, and semi-shaded environment. The ideal growing humidity is generally between 15°C and 25°C. You can spray the leaf surface with water 2 to 3 times a week to increase air humidity.
