Pothos, also known as golden pothos, flower meaning: resilience and kindness, watching over happiness. Placement at home: potted plants can be placed on windowsills, desks, or coffee tables, while trailing pots can be hung in bathrooms or corners. Pothos always quietly adorns the greenery indoors, so in this beautiful spring and summer season, during pothos' vigorous growth period, add this when watering, and its leaves will be emerald green and glossy, able to shoot up several meters in 10 days!

Beer

Beer works well for growing flowers because beer contains a large amount of carbon dioxide, and carbon dioxide is an indispensable substance for the metabolism of various plants and flowers. Beer also contains nutrients such as sugar, protein, amino acids, and phosphate, which are beneficial to flower growth.

How to use: After opening the beer and letting it ventilate for 2-3 days, mix it thoroughly with water at a ratio of 1:20, and use it directly as a foliar fertilizer to spray the leaves of pothos, which can make the leaves more glossy.

Urea

Since urea's main component is nitrogen, it is exactly the nutrient element that pothos needs for growth.

How to use: Take 0.5-1 kg of urea solution (concentration of 0.5%-1%), add 100 kg of clean water, and stir evenly. For a mixed potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea solution, put 1 gram each of potassium dihydrogen phosphate and urea into 1 kg of water. This formula is also suitable for foliar spraying of all foliage plants other than pothos.

Urea can indeed be used as a foliar fertilizer for pothos. When spraying water on pothos leaves, add some foliar fertilizer, and pothos will grow better.

Fish tank water

Fish feces are natural fertilizer, and since they are diluted by a large amount of water, the concentration is very weak. You can directly use the water changed from the fish tank to water pothos without worrying about fertilizer burn. Some friends even grow the plants directly in the filter tank hydroponically, and the pothos grows like crazy!

Key points for pothos care

Pothos prefers a warm, humid environment with scattered light. It is not tolerant of cold or drought, tolerates shade and moisture, and avoids strong direct sunlight.

1. The suitable temperature for pothos growth is 20-25°C. The best overwintering temperature is maintained at around 15°C, and the lowest temperature must not be below 8°C.

2. Pothos does not have high soil requirements, and sandy soil that is loose, fertile, and well-draining is suitable. For potting soil, garden soil, leaf mold, and river sand can be mixed at a ratio of 5:3:2.

3. In summer, when temperatures are high, ensure a sufficient water supply, watering once a day to keep the potting soil constantly moist. In winter, when temperatures are lower, the potting soil should be kept moist but on the drier side, so as to avoid excessive watering causing root rot or even death.
