Clivia has a very neat plant shape that makes you feel comfortable just looking at it. Even when it is not blooming, it is a great foliage plant, and it also has a wonderfully soothing effect for people with obsessive-compulsive tendencies. But what should you do if you accidentally grow your clivia's leaves crooked and lopsided? Here are 4 little tricks to make them grow straighter and straighter!

Why clivia leaves grow "crooked and slanted"

As everyone knows, plants are phototropic and tend to grow toward the direction the sunlight comes from. Flowers on a balcony or windowsill at home will all grow toward the outside of the balcony. Leaves that receive more sunlight have plenty of photosynthesis and grow fast, while those that receive less grow slowly!

Trick 1: Use the small bamboo clips meant for hanging clothes to dry, pad them with soft paper, and clip the crooked leaf together directly with a properly shaped leaf. After a period of time, the crooked leaf will be corrected.

Trick 2: If it is a larger clivia, you can directly wrap it with aluminum foil. The effect will be much better than using some thick cardboard, and it will not cause any damage to the leaves.

Trick 3: Choose two pieces of cardboard 1 to 2 mm thick, and according to the size and width of the clivia leaves, make the cardboard into trapezoidal sleeves, then put the clivia sprouts one by one through the trapezoidal cardboard. After a period of shaping, the clivia leaves will return to being neat.

Trick 4: Usually pay attention to the direction in which the clivia is placed. The tips of the leaves should point north and south respectively, and regularly rotate the flower pot 180 degrees, alternating the north-south orientation of the two groups of leaves in turn.
