Dragon Tree Care Guide and Precautions
1. Soil
The dragon tree likes loose soil with good air permeability. A ceramic pot can be used, and the growing medium can be a mix of vermiculite and perlite.
2. Light
The dragon tree likes sunlight but is afraid of scorching sun, and it likes a warm, humid environment. So placing it in a room with plenty of sunlight is enough.
3. Temperature
The most suitable temperature is 20-28°C; in summer the temperature should not exceed 32°C at most, and in winter it should not fall below 10°C at minimum. Lower temperatures will cause yellow-brown patches to appear at the leaf tips.
4. Watering
It has a fairly strong tolerance for drought. To prevent rot, be sure not to water too much; generally watering once every 10-15 days is enough, as long as its soil stays slightly moist.
5. Precautions
1. Repotting: Be a little careful when changing the pot, and do not damage its root system, especially the main root. When repotting, do not just use any soil you find; it is best to choose sandy soil with good aeration. After repotting, do not water immediately; place it in a shady spot away from direct sunlight, and only water normally after 3-5 days once it has stabilised.
2. Repotting time: Generally, repotting is needed after 2-3 years of growing. The best time to repot is April, and when repotting, choose a suitable pot according to its size.
