How to grow winter jasmine? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions
1. Soil
Growing winter jasmine requires fertile, well-draining acidic soil. Never use soil that tends toward alkaline, as it may prevent the plant from growing normally.
2. Watering
Before and after it blooms, you can water it a bit more as appropriate. Also, in the hot summer, water moderately and more frequently, and you can also spray some water on the ground to maintain air humidity. During the rainy season, drain promptly; once water accumulates in the pot soil, it will cause root rot.
3. Light
Before it blooms, it needs plenty of light. During the flowering period, it does not need sunlight exposure; it is best placed in a room with partial sun and partial shade. When summer temperatures are high, provide it with appropriate shade.
4. Fertilizing
During its growth, apply decomposed liquid fertilizer about once every 15 days; during the flower bud differentiation stage, apply more phosphorus fertilizer, which can help the flower buds grow faster; to ensure the flower colors are vivid, apply an organic liquid fertilizer once before flowering.
5. Precautions
1. Early flowering: If you want it to bloom earlier, you can place it in a sunny room with a slightly higher temperature. After flowering, the indoor temperature is best kept at 8°C. The higher the room temperature, the faster the flowers fade. Do not let wind blow directly on it, and you can effectively extend the flowering period.
2. Pests and diseases: When pests or diseases appear, first remove diseased leaves or weeds, and combine this with spraying pesticide to eliminate them.
