How to grow fuchsia? Detailed guide to cultivation methods and precautions
1. Soil
Use loose, well-draining soil. You can use a growing mix made by blending sand, leaf mold, and decomposed cake fertilizer powder. Every year as the peak growing season approaches, replace the potting soil with new soil, and in autumn you can loosen the soil appropriately.
2. Fertilizing
During its growing season, apply fertilizer once every 7-10 days. If nutrients are insufficient, it will be difficult for it to bloom a second time, so fertilizer must be applied in the right amount.
3. Watering
Control the amount of water well and keep the potting soil moist. If the potting soil is too dry or too wet, it can cause leaf drop. If the potting soil remains waterlogged for a long time, it will lead to yellow leaves and even rot and death.
4. Temperature
The most suitable temperature in summer is 15-25°C, and the winter temperature should be around 10°C. If the temperature is below 5°C, it may suffer frost damage.
5. Light
Light should not be too intense. When the summer temperature is high, shade it appropriately, and do not let it receive light for too long, as this may cause the leaves to die.
6. Precautions
1. Watering level: In spring and autumn, keep the potting soil sufficiently moist. In summer, when the temperature is high, control the amount of water well. After heavy pruning or pinching, also control the amount of water well, and wait until new branches and leaves sprout before returning to normal watering.
2. Rain exposure: Prevent it from being exposed to rain. If the potting soil drains poorly, root rot is very likely to occur after rain exposure.
