What to do when peony leaves turn yellow? Common causes and solutions
1. Water in the right amount:
Cause: If you usually water too frequently or leave too long between waterings, the leaves will turn yellow; if the amount of water is not controlled well, too much or too little will also cause the leaves to turn yellow.
Solution: If there is a lack of water, increase the amount of watering; if the amount of watering is too large, loosen the soil and reduce the amount of watering. Water regularly and control the amount of water well.
2. Fertilize in the right amount:
Cause: If the fertilizer concentration is too high, or if there is a lack of nutrients due to insufficient fertilizing, the leaves will turn yellow and may even wither and die.
Solution: When fertilizing, do not make the concentration too high, and control the amount so it is not too much or too frequent. If you have applied too much fertilizer, you can increase watering to wash it out.
3. Replace the soil:
Cause: If a peony grows in alkaline soil, its leaves will turn yellow after growing for a period of time. If you do nothing, it will not only worsen the yellowing but also lead to death.
Solution: You can replace it with suitable soil, switching to acidic soil, which can not only improve the yellow-leaf condition but also benefit its growth.
4. Eliminate pests:
Cause: Peonies are generally attacked by pests, which can cause the leaves to turn yellow or scorch.
Solution: After discovering pests, catch them in time, or spray pesticide to eliminate the pests.
