What to Do When Narcissus Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
1. Supplement nitrogen
(1) Specific cause: During the growing period, the plant has relatively high nutrient requirements. If the amount of fertilizer applied is too low for a long time, or the pot has not been changed for a long time, severe nutrient deficiency can easily cause the leaves to turn yellow. This mainly refers to nitrogen.
(2) Solution: Supplement some fertilizer containing nitrogen in time. However, do not use too much at once, and the amount should not be too large.
2. Adjust the room temperature
(1) Specific cause: This occurs mostly in winter. If the temperature is too low, the plant suffers cold damage, which can easily cause the leaves to turn yellow, and in severe cases they may wither and die.
(2) Solution: Once discovered, adjust the room temperature in time, or move it to a warmer place.
3. Supplement iron
(1) Specific cause: If the water used for watering lacks iron, the leaves will also turn yellow.
(2) Solution: Supplement some soluble iron, and water with some alum fertilizer water, etc.
4. Supplement light
(1) Specific cause: The plant has a relatively high demand for light, especially in winter. If it is shaded for a long time and the light is insufficient, the branches and leaves will turn yellow.
(2) Solution: Once yellow leaves are found, supplement light immediately, and more than six hours of light per day must be ensured. However, too strong light must also be shaded.
5. Prune regularly
(1) Specific cause: If there has been no pruning for a long time, there are too many messy branches and leaves, light cannot pass through well, and nutrients are also insufficiently supplied, which can easily cause the leaves to turn yellow.
(2) Solution: If the branches and leaves are found to be too dense, prune them in time, and regular pruning is best. In addition, some fertilizer can be supplemented appropriately.
