If you want your balcony to have flowers blooming all year round, then grow a pot of this flower, the hibiscus, also known as Zhu Jin. Right now is the season when hibiscus blooms. If your balcony gets good sunlight, as long as the temperature is above 15°C, it can bloom all year round, with large flowers that are especially vivid, and there are also many varieties with diverse flower colors, making it very ornamental

So how should you normally care for hibiscus to keep it healthy?

1. Light,

Hibiscus likes an environment with plenty of light. More sun exposure can make its flowering period longer and the blooms more vivid. At the same time, hibiscus likes relatively high air humidity. On the premise of good ventilation, misting the leaves more helps the plant grow and makes it less prone to yellowing or drying leaves

2. Soil,

Hibiscus likes loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. You can use leaf mold, coarse river sand plus a little garden soil, then mix in one tenth pine needles to adjust the soil pH. You can add more base fertilizer to give it enough nutrients to promote flowering

2. Watering

Hibiscus likes moist soil. On the premise of loose and breathable soil, maintain sufficient watering. Hibiscus is not drought-tolerant, so do not let it go without water often, as it easily leads to buds that do not open and bud drop

4. Fertilizing, because hibiscus both blooms and grows, fertilizing should mainly use multi-element fertilizer, applying light fertilizer frequently, with diluted fertilizer water once or twice a month, so it has sufficient nutrients to supply its flowering

5. If water and fertilizer are sufficient and light is good, hibiscus grows relatively fast, so it needs frequent pruning and cutting back branches to maintain a good plant shape. Its branching ability is very strong and it will sprout many side branches. The pruned branches can be used for cuttings and root and survive very easily
