What to Do When Dragon Tree Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
1. Increase light:
Cause: The dragon tree prefers sunny and humid growing conditions. If it is kept in a shady spot for a long time, its leaves will turn yellow and withered.
Solution: Let it receive plenty of sunlight, and also ensure the growing environment is humid and warm. You can simply place it on a balcony, in a spot with good sunlight and ventilation.
2. Replace the pot:
Cause: If it has not been repotted for a long time, as its root system keeps growing, the space inside the pot will become insufficient, it will be unable to absorb nutrients, and the leaves will naturally turn yellow.
Solution: Repot it in a timely manner according to its growth condition. Be careful when repotting, and try not to damage the roots.
3. Raise the temperature:
Cause: The dragon tree likes a warm environment. If the temperature is too low, the roots will be unable to absorb water normally, and the leaves will therefore turn yellow.
Solution: Take some measures to keep it warm when temperatures are low in winter. In summer, do not place it directly in a spot where the air conditioner blows directly, so as to avoid excessively low temperatures affecting its normal growth.
4. Eliminate pests:
Cause: Due to the growing environment, red spider mites easily appear, and when the dragon tree is infested, its leaves will turn yellow or even fall off.
Solution: After discovering red spider mites, catch them promptly. Manual catching is generally more convenient, and chemical agents can also be used to eliminate them.
