What to do if Hoya leaves turn yellow? Causes and solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why Hoya leaves turn yellow: if it is caused by an unsuitable pot, replace it with a suitable sandy pot; if the fertilizer amount is too large, reduce fertilization appropriately; if the fertilizer amount is too small, increase fertilization; if the light is too strong, reduce the light it receives; if it has not been watered for a long time, give it more water.

1. Replace the pot:

Cause: If the pot is too short, the roots of the Hoya will not develop well, and this can very likely also cause its leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: When choosing a pot, choose a sandy pot as much as possible, and do not choose one that is too large; try to choose a taller one, and also replace it with a suitable pot according to the growth of the Hoya.

2. Fertilize in the right amount:

Cause: The amount of fertilizer seriously affects its growth. If the amount used is too much or too little, its leaves will very easily turn yellow.

Solution: Pay attention to the amount of fertilizer. If the amount is too much, reduce it appropriately; on the contrary, if the amount is too little, you can also increase it appropriately.

3. Give the right amount of light:

Cause: Hoya quite likes sunlight, but it cannot be exposed to sunlight for a long time, as this will greatly damage the leaves, while being in a shady environment for a long time will likewise cause the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: In summer, you can shade the Hoya to reduce the light it receives; in winter, it can be grown in a place with plenty of sunlight.

4. Water reasonably:

Cause: Whether it is overwatering or insufficient water, both will cause Hoya leaves to turn yellow. A large amount of water for a long time will cause root rot, and being dry for a long time will dehydrate it.

Solution: If you usually water heavily, you can loosen the soil appropriately and then reduce the amount of watering. If it lacks water, you can increase the air humidity and keep the soil in a moist state at all times.
