What to Do When Winter Jasmine Leaves Turn Yellow? Cause Analysis and Solutions

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why winter jasmine leaves turn yellow: if it is due to overwatering, reduce the amount of watering appropriately; if the soil has poor aeration, replace it with suitable soil in time; if it is caused by fertilizing, increase or decrease the amount of fertilizer as appropriate; if there are pests and diseases, remove the pests promptly and prune regularly.

1. Reduce watering

Cause: Winter jasmine is relatively intolerant of waterlogging, especially during the rainy season or when there is too much standing water that cannot drain away in time, its roots cannot breathe normally, and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Water in moderation, and never go by feel alone. If you have watered too much, you can let it sit in the sun for a while after watering. It is best to check the condition of the soil before watering; if it is relatively moist, you can skip watering for now.

2. Replace the soil

Cause: Winter jasmine is generally grown outdoors and may often be rained on. If the soil used is relatively heavy and clay-like with poor aeration, standing water cannot drain away, its roots cannot breathe normally, and this affects the leaves, causing them to turn yellow.

Solution: You can switch to soil with better aeration, or place some coarse sand grains at the bottom of the flower pot, or replace the soil promptly after it has been rained on, to maintain good aeration.

3. Fertilize reasonably

Cause: During its vigorous growth period, it generally needs an increased amount of fertilizer; if nutrients are insufficient, its growth will be affected.

Solution: Fertilize reasonably during cultivation; the amount of fertilizer varies with different growth conditions. Apply nitrogen fertilizer once before flowering, and apply a top dressing once after flowering.

4. Remove pests

Cause: Pests and diseases may appear during the growing season, which can harm the leaves and even directly cause it not to bloom.

Solution: Use pesticides promptly to remove pests and diseases, and prune reasonably in normal times to reduce the chance of pest problems.
