Petunia Leaves Turning Yellow: Causes and Solutions
1. Fertilize appropriately:
Cause: When the amount of fertilizer is too large, new leaves will appear relatively thick and yellow. If it has not been fertilized for a long time, it will lack nutrient elements, which will cause the leaves to turn yellow.
Solution: If the amount of fertilizer is large, you should stop fertilizing immediately, then increase the amount of watering to let the fertilizer in the soil leach away, or you can directly replace the potting soil. Fertilize appropriately; if it has not been fertilized for a long time, then give it some fertilizer.
2. Increase light:
Cause: If petunias are placed in a cool place or a place with weak light for a long time, the branches and leaves will very easily turn yellow.
Solution: Place it in a spot with fairly good ventilation and just the right amount of sunlight; it cannot be exposed to harsh sun, nor can it be placed in a place that is too shady.
3. Increase humidity:
Cause: When the indoor environment is dry, its leaves will turn yellow and also show scorched, withered symptoms.
Solution: You can spray water or cover it with a layer of plastic film, which can adjust the humidity in the air.
4. Adjust the room temperature:
Cause: In summer the room temperature will be very high, and the roots cannot normally absorb water and nutrients, which will cause the leaves to turn yellow, while in winter the room temperature will be very low, and the leaves may suffer frost damage and turn yellow.
Solution: In summer, you can place it in a ventilated and cool spot; in winter, you can take some measures to keep it warm. Usually, adjust the indoor temperature in time; it should not be too high or too low.
