What to Do When Marguerite Daisy Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
I. Improper Watering
1. Reduce Watering
Although it likes a somewhat moist environment, if you water it too much, water will accumulate in the pot, causing the roots to start rotting and the leaves to turn yellow. This is especially true in summer, when temperatures are high and the air is stuffy; if you do not promptly move it to a ventilated, shady spot, the chances of leaves turning yellow increase even more.
Solution: At this point, you need to drain the excess water and place it in a cool, ventilated area to let the potting soil dry out, after which you can resume normal care. If appropriate, you can also replace part of the potting soil, cut off the rotted roots, and make sure to water it in the right amount.
2. Water Appropriately
If you notice its leaves turning yellow and looking listless, it is very likely caused by a lack of water, because it generally prefers a somewhat moist environment and grows exceptionally vigorously with many branches under such conditions. If the pot is too small, the water you pour in simply cannot meet its water needs, and the leaves will begin to turn yellow from lack of water.
Solution: At this point, you need to switch to a slightly larger pot and water it appropriately; do not let the potting soil remain dry for a long time.
II. Unsuitable Temperature
1. Provide Shade and Cool It Down
Although it likes a warm environment, if the temperature is too high, its leaves will begin to turn yellow. This is especially true in summer, when temperatures are extremely high and the weather is stuffy; if you do not provide shade for it, its leaves will turn scorched yellow.
Solution: At this point, you need to move it to a cool, ventilated spot for care, giving it just a bit of scattered light.
2. Raise the Temperature
It is not only intolerant of heat but also very intolerant of cold. When winter temperatures are low, if you do not keep it warm, especially when the temperature drops below 10 degrees, it will suffer cold damage, and the leaves will become withered and yellow.
Solution: In winter, move it back indoors for care and keep the temperature above 10 degrees, and it will make it through the winter safely.
