Master the three-step orchid watering method of spraying, sprinkling and soaking to make orchids bloom faster

Water management for orchids is very important and is one of the keys to success or failure in growing orchids. However, there is a saying about watering orchids: "There are flexible methods for growing orchids, but no rigid rules." Water management should be handled even more flexibly. Today I will talk about the three-step orchid watering method. Once you master it, they will bloom faster.
Orchid water management can be divided into three steps: "spraying, sprinkling and soaking." Generally, "in winter and spring, spraying and sprinkling are the main methods, while in summer and autumn, sprinkling and soaking are combined." In hot weather, watering should be done in the early morning and evening, while in cold weather it should be done at noon when it is warmer. At the same time, according to the physiological characteristics of orchids, regular spraying and sprinkling should be carried out to wash away dust and dirt on the leaves, which is more conducive to the respiration and nutrient absorption of orchid plants and promotes their normal growth.
In addition, when watering orchids, different water management should be carried out according to the seasons. In winter and spring, the temperature is lower and orchids are in a dormant period. New buds have not yet emerged, and the plants need less water. If too much water is supplied, it will damage the roots and leaves and affect the normal growth of orchids. In summer and autumn, orchids sprout and gradually enter a vigorous growth period. Summer and autumn temperatures are high, and the plants absorb and evaporate a large amount of water. Therefore, more water should be supplied to meet the growth needs of orchids.
Fellow flower growers, if you want orchids to grow well, when spraying, sprinkling and soaking orchids, you can add some organic nutrient solution specially formulated for orchids. Applied together with watering, it is absorbed more quickly by orchids and is less likely to damage the roots. Generally, do this once every 7-10 days. It can supplement the growth elements orchids need, make the root system stronger, and make them bloom faster and more abundantly.
Also, it is better to use soaking when watering orchids. Orchids have the habit of "liking cleanliness and fearing filth." Soaking and watering can not only meet their water needs, but also flush out residual fertilizer, chemicals and stale gases in the potting medium, renew the air in the pot, and enable the root system to better absorb nutrients from the air. If water is often applied without soaking through, so that the potting medium is neither dry nor wet, it is easy to cause the potting medium to heat up and turn sour, and to create problems such as the breeding of bacteria and pests. Therefore, when growing orchids, the worst thing is half-watering.
In addition, during the extremely hot seasons of summer and autumn, there will be situations where the sun is shining while it is raining. This kind of rainwater is extremely unfavorable to orchid growth and can easily cause disease. At this time, after the rain, fellow flower growers should promptly carry out a large amount of soaking to wash away the acidity in the rainwater and the stuffy hot gases in the pot.
In short, there is no fixed method for orchid water management, but fellow flower growers should water according to factors such as the orchid pot, potting medium, light, temperature, humidity, ventilation, weather, variety and the growth condition of the orchids.
