Ice Cream Tulip Flowers Look Like Ice Cream, Making You Want to Eat Them

Ice Cream Tulip The Ice Cream Tulip is a new premium tulip cultivar artificially bred abroad. China introduced it in 2005. This tulip is a single-headed tulip, almost equivalent in size to 2 ordinary tulips, and its ruffled petals resemble those of a peony, so it is also often called the Peony Tulip.

Growth Habits:
Ice Cream Tulip The Ice Cream Tulip is very sensitive to heat and is not suitable for growing in Taiwan, China. It must first be cultivated in a cold storage room below 10 degrees for two months, then transplanted into tree shade for two months; in 2015, more than 300 plants were trial-planted for the first time, and only half succeeded, with an extremely low success rate.
Tulips are long-day flowering plants, fond of sunny, wind-sheltered conditions, a warm and humid winter, and a cool and dry summer climate. They can grow normally above 8°C, and generally tolerate low temperatures of -14°C.
They are highly cold-resistant. In severely cold regions, if there is thick snow cover, the bulbs can overwinter in the open field, but they fear intense summer heat. If summer comes early and midsummer is very hot, the bulbs are difficult to carry through the summer after dormancy. They require humus-rich, loose and fertile, well-drained slightly acidic sandy loam. Avoid alkaline soil and continuous cropping.
