It has been almost three years since I fell into the hobby. I learned everything about growing succulents completely by following the Succulent Plant Encyclopedia. When I first got into it, I read the Encyclopedia every night and went through all the historical articles too. At first I grew them in Shanghai, and the first summer almost everything died. Later, by following the Encyclopedia, I learned a lot, and the losses in the second year were much fewer. After that I married and moved to Shenzhen. Shenzhen was so hot that I even wanted to quit the hobby, but fortunately I added a lot of succulent sellers on WeChat, and seeing the beautiful succulents they posted every day kept me going. I originally thought that in Shenzhen it would be enough if they just survived, but the results were surprisingly good, especially the Aeoniums, which truly made this pit of mine become a deep pit I cannot climb out of.
Below are a few comparison groups. Since I do not have the habit of taking comparison photos, there are very few pictures.
Such a beautiful condition makes me, in Shenzhen, continue to sink deeply into the deep pit of succulents. The condition photos were all taken under natural light. I am not too sure about the varieties either. Aeoniums all look pretty similar, and there are a bunch of names. I really cannot remember them. As long as it is beautiful, that is enough.
This one turned red less than 10 days after planting. This picture was just taken a moment ago.
Just potted last winter, the leaves were still flailing wildly
Taken now, the leaves are obviously shorter. If I keep growing it, I wonder whether they will become round.
The first crested Aeonium I bought. It was already in good condition when it arrived.
Just taken. Although it was already in good condition when I bought it, there is still a difference when I look at it now after growing it.
This bouquet Aeonium, when I bought it I even joked that I would grow it beautifully and use it as the bride's bouquet at the wedding.
Now it is indeed very beautiful, but I did not use it as a bouquet. I could not bear to mess with it.
Below are other varieties of beautiful succulents. Every pot makes me unable to believe I am in Shenzhen, haha.
