Introduction

Potted greenery is an essential decorative element of home life, as it beautifies the living space and also lifts the spirits. Keeping some flowers and plants at home brings many benefits. "Flower Sound Potted Plant Diary, Issue 968" introduces you to a vine with a very long blooming period.

Today's star

Vines refer to those plants that cannot grow upright and need external support to grow upward. Common ones such as clematis, morning glory and bougainvillea all belong to this group. These plants bloom wherever they climb, making them excellent vertical greening material, suitable for flower walls, flower pillars and more, with outstanding ornamental effect.

Blue Rain

The flower introduced today is named Blue Rain, a new type of ornamental vine bred in Germany in 2012. Its flower color is a light purple rarely seen in nature, mysterious and noble. The flowers are not large, about 6 cm in diameter, but the flower quantity is very large, opening in multi-headed clusters, easily blooming in a full flush, with an overall superb ornamental effect.

Very long blooming period

Many vine flowers have very long blooming periods. For example, blue plumbago can bloom all summer long, clematis blooms from summer to autumn, and mandevilla blooms in all seasons except winter. Blue Rain, however, blooms in all four seasons, putting on a gorgeous display in spring, summer, autumn and winter alike, with the peak in spring and autumn. It is one of the vines with the longest blooming periods, and is therefore much loved by flower enthusiasts. Keep one at home and it is spring all year round.

Potted Blue Rain

Although it is a vine, Blue Rain does not have strong climbing ability. When young it is basically a shrub, with many branches and fast growth. It is also a small vine, not demanding deep soil, so it can absolutely be grown in a pot, and even on a balcony, unlike Eden Rose which must be planted in the ground. Daily care is also very easy. It is robust and rarely troubled by pests and diseases, and can be managed as casually as pothos or spider plant.

Worth having

Turning your own balcony or yard into a small garden is, I believe, a dream every flower enthusiast has, and Blue Rain is a great choice. Its rare light purple color, its unique hue, and its blooming period that continues through all four seasons are very eye-catching. Cold-tolerant and heat-resistant, it can even be grown outdoors in northern regions, and it is well worth having.
