Master 3 points in bougainvillea care, and you'll get 3 times more flowers than leaves

Bougainvillea is one of my favorite flowers. Its blooms are triangular in shape, simple, brightly colored, yet no less beautiful. Whether planted in the ground or in a pot, it shows its value beautifully, with a strong decorative and accent effect!
Bougainvillea is so beautiful, but when caring for it you also need to understand three points, and only then will it bloom 3 times more flowers than leaves!
Bougainvillea loves light
Bougainvillea loves ample light and a well-ventilated environment. Make sure it gets at least six hours of light every day, and only then will its branches grow vigorously and will it bud and bloom smoothly. Normally it needs to be placed on a south balcony or south windowsill for care. It cannot survive long-term in a semi-shaded or shady environment; this not only affects the growth of branches and leaves, but flowering will be affected as well.
Bougainvillea loves fertilizer
When fertilizing bougainvillea, apply light fertilizer frequently. In the early growth stage, mainly use nitrogen fertilizer, applying it once every 10 days. During the bud and flowering stage, mainly use phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, chiefly to promote full blooming, increase the number of flowers, and extend the flowering period.
Prune frequently
If you want more flowers, you also need to prune frequently. Bougainvillea grows fast, and without pruning it easily produces leggy branches, which is not only unattractive but also makes the branches and leaves too dense. A stuffy, airless environment is bad for growth and also makes the plant prone to pests and diseases. Promptly cut off diseased branches, old branches, and so on; be sure to pinch off the tips so it grows more side branches, and only then can it bloom more at one time.
