When a plant lacks water, or you forget to water it, the plant will start turning yellow from the tips and the base. Solutions include, for example, plants like pennywort (Hydrocotyle vulgaris), which just need watering once every evening; but for something more cold-tolerant, like succulents, going half a month to a month without watering is no problem at all.

If the leaves slowly turn yellow from the bottom upward, that means the plant is going through metabolism. As the plant grows, the yellowed leaves will drop off and the stems will become thicker and sturdier. If it is a succulent type, there is no need to worry when the lower leaves drop either, it is so it can grow into a better shape.

If new leaves turn yellow and wilt, that means you have watered too much. Too much water can also cause new leaves to turn yellow, while the old leaves will be relatively better off, so the solution is not to water too frequently.

If a plant shows this condition in summer, it is sick, and you must treat it quickly!
