Orchid dragon-root seedlings - doesn't that sound very upscale?

Dragon-root seedlings are something many orchid growers have always pursued, and plenty of people online claim their dragon-root seedlings produced some kind of exotic flower. So what on earth is a dragon-root seedling? How does it manage to make countless orchid growers bow in admiration?

Farmer Haoshe has also found dragon-root seedlings, but I don't think they are all that magical. If you want an exotic flower to bloom, you still need the right variety, right? Dragon-root seedlings can form in any orchid variety; as long as the location and climate are suitable, a dragon root can grow. So today the farmer will take everyone to the place where I once dug up a dragon root, and you will probably understand

Orchid seeds are extremely small; dried orchid seeds are like powder, and a gust of wind can carry them far. What's more, the germination rate of orchid seeds is not high - they only sprout if the wind blows them to a place suited to their growth. A dragon-root seedling is actually a seedling formed when many seeds sprout together, so that place must be very suitable for orchid growth. What kind of place is it, then?

Deep valleys, beside streams. These places are humid, get little direct sunlight, and in summer the temperature is at least 5 degrees lower than outside the stream area. The conditions formed this way are what orchids like best. If a clump (double handful) of orchid seeds is blown here and meets this most suitable growing place, all those seeds may sprout, and because they are stuck together, their roots easily join together, forming what is called a dragon root.

A dragon root is nothing rare; as long as conditions are suitable, there will be a dragon root. If you want good flower quality, you still have to start from the variety - relying on a dragon root to get an exotic flower is hard. What do you think, fellow orchid growers?
