Comparing each requirement that a perfect rose should meet in everyone's mind, I carefully ticked them off on my variety recommendation list;

In the end, on the long list, not many rose varieties that matched all the criteria could remain.

And the fairy introduced today - Bolero - is definitely one of the outstanding performers among them.

Bolero

Bolero

Flower: white, near-white or white blend; large flowers, repeat blooming across multiple seasons.

Fragrance: super fragrant, old rose blended with fruity notes.

Leaves: large, glossy, dark green.

Plant: floriferous, height 90-120cm.

Disease resistance: exceptionally outstanding.

Bred: 2004 in France, by Meilland International, Alain Meilland

Her fragrance and soft beauty,

leave me completely overwhelmed!

Bolero has a lovely nickname - "Pineapple."

Her most outstanding trait is her super-strong fragrance blended with fruity notes! More fragrant than Zhenzhu, Tianfang Yetan and Jude!

Rich fruity fragrance, fresh and sweet, very pleasant to smell - a fragrance even straight men would praise. Some flower lovers describe her as "giving off a heavenly scent!"

Moreover, her fragrance is highly volatile, often "you smell her before you see her." A single flower can fill an entire room with a floral scent blending honey and lemon.

Besides her fragrance, her appearance is also an elegant charm that makes people fall in love at first sight, gently exuding her own unique appeal.

When first in bud, she shows a pale pink;

as the petals gradually open she becomes more and more lovely, with a gentle apricot-pink center and creamy white around the edges, light and refined like a charming, shy princess;

when fully open, the pink gradually fades, and the pom-pom formed by more than 100 petals takes on a semi-translucent creamy white, like fresh, sweet lychees in XXXL size, soft and delicate in texture.

Truly worthy of the name of an elegant princess,

yet so diligent and not at all delicate!

Bolero is heat tolerant and an insanely prolific bloomer!

Many flower lovers complain: some roses are beautiful, but they only bloom once or twice a year, especially in the hot sauna-like days, when they wilt from the heat and simply cannot bloom.

But Bolero, which looks delicate and soft, is actually a formidable "Amazon Barbie."

Especially prolific blooming, with flower buds almost always hanging on the branches year-round.

Even in summer, under the 38-degree sun every day, she keeps blooming continuously, though the flowers become smaller and whiter. (Blooming in the height of summer is not easy either.)

Disease resistant! Disease resistant! Disease resistant!

For roses that are otherwise medicine guzzlers, being able to achieve this alone is already outstanding enough!

Many flower lovers who have grown "Pineapple" say: even when starting from a toothpick-sized seedling, she has never been seen to catch any disease.

Her leaves are always glossy and shiny. You only need to spray appropriately before the peak season for pests and diseases, and you basically don't need to worry about her being plagued by them.

In addition, she also has these advantages:

1. Strong growth, branches grow fast;

3. Tolerant of rain, petals are tough in texture, and she can bloom normally even when rained on;

2. Compact plant shape, suitable for pot cultivation, friendly to balcony growers.

However, strictly speaking, nothing in the world is one hundred percent perfect.

If one really had to pick a small flaw, her shortcoming is a slight drooping of the head.

This is also only natural - who told her flowers to be so "plump"!

The flowers reach a full 11cm, and the branches cannot support the weight, so there is a nodding effect. If the whole plant opens several flowers at once, and none of them is very large, the branches will not droop.

As a classic floriferous rose that has been around for 14 years, Bolero's fairy-like beauty and fragrance continuously stir the hearts of many flower lovers.

Perfectly proving the saying: "Trends fade, but classics endure."

Finally, let's take another look at the big "Pineapples" grown by flower lovers, and happily end today's plant-recommendation journey.

If you are a beginner balcony grower,

and have strict aesthetic standards for roses,

then probably only the Bolero fairy

can save you!
