Many flower lovers still prefer growing succulents, because they are plump, small and delicate, and above all easy to grow, with very tenacious vitality, so they can be grown into lush, leafy plants without much effort.

But when growing succulents, if you grow these 3 kinds you need to be careful for safety, as they all carry a certain amount of toxins, so it is better to admire them from a distance and not touch them carelessly!

1. Jade plant

The jade plant is mainly a foliage plant, with thick, emerald-green leaves that are very endearing, and if well cared for it will also bloom. Many flower lovers prune it from time to time, cutting off the inner branches, old leaves, flat branches and so on, and at this point you need to be careful for safety, because its branches and leaves contain euphol, and contact with human skin can cause swelling, pain, blisters and so on, so do not touch it directly.

The jade plant likes light and tolerates drought; just water it thoroughly once the potting soil has dried and cracked, and during the growing season you can mix some dilute nitrogen fertilizer into the water and pour it into the flower pot, which will let the jade plant grow very well and make its leaves even more emerald green.

2. Crown of thorns

Some flower lovers enjoy the crown of thorns for its quaint-looking branches and gorgeously colorful flowers, but its body is covered in thorns that feel threatening, and on top of that its sap also contains toxins that can cause skin allergies and redness.

The crown of thorns likes light, but the weather is getting hotter and hotter now and the sun is getting more and more scorching, so you need to shade it; you can move it to a south-facing balcony or indoors near a window, in a place where it is not easy to bump into.

3. Dragon bone

Dragon bone, also called triangle milkstrip cactus, sounds domineering just from its name, and it is a plant loved by quite a few flower lovers. Its form is similar to a cactus, it can grow very long, up to 2-3 m tall, and it has thorns itself. Its stems contain a milky white sap that can cause skin allergies, redness, swelling, itching and so on.

Dragon bone likes light and can take full sun, and it sparkles under the sunlight; it also likes dry soil and is very drought-tolerant, so you can water it again after ten days to half a month.

That is all for the introduction of these 3 common toxic succulents. If flower lovers have anything to add, you can share it with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower growing, you can follow Huajianke!
