What have you actually done for your plants? Do you just bring a flower home, put it in the sun, water it when you remember, and then completely forget this little thing exists?

1. Never repotting

If your potted plant has not been repotted for 3 or 4 years, its root system will fill the entire pot, the soil in the pot will decrease, and at this point it will start to affect the plant's flowering, and it can easily lead to waterlogging and root rot. Fast-growing plants are generally repotted once every 1 to 2 years, while slow-growing plants can be repotted once every 2 to 3 years. The new pot should not be too large; one that is just about right is best, as an overly large pot easily leads to waterlogging.

2. Waterlogged soil

Some flower lovers just cannot sit still. Potted plants cannot speak, so they love to water them heavily, watering several times a day, more punctually than three meals a day. This is a mistake many beginners make. Too much watering causes waterlogged soil. When watering potted plants, beginners should grasp the rule of watering thoroughly only after the potting soil has dried out: when the soil from the surface down to about 4 cm above the bottom of the pot is dry, only then start watering. Do not water only halfway; water thoroughly.

3. Never cleaning the leaves

Is cleaning the leaves of indoor plants important? In my view, it is very important. If the leaves of indoor plants are not cleaned for a long time, dust easily accumulates, preventing photosynthesis and easily causing yellow leaves. You can regularly spray the leaves with clean water, or use some leftover beer diluted with water to water the flowers, making the leaves more glossy.

4. Moving the position back and forth

When a plant is moved indoors to be grown, it needs a period of time to adapt. Whether outdoors or indoors, it needs a settling-in period. Flower lovers must avoid constantly moving potted plants. In general, once you place it in a suitable spot, move it as little as possible, and especially do not easily move it during the flowering period.

5. Avoid indiscriminate use of pesticides

To prevent pests and diseases, highly toxic pesticides should not be used for growing flowers indoors. Strictly control the concentration of the solution and pay attention to medication safety.

6. Avoid dry air

When indoor air humidity is insufficient, many flowers often show dull, lusterless leaves, scorched leaf edges or scorch spots, so you can regularly spray clean water on the leaf surfaces.

7. Avoid applying raw fertilizer

Some people bury chopped meat scraps directly into flower pots to increase fertility, but doing so is harmful rather than beneficial. This is because these organic materials consume a large amount of oxygen during fermentation, affecting the normal respiration of the root system, and the high temperature produced by fermentation will burn the roots.

These small problems are usually overlooked by all of us, so in order for fellow flower lovers to grow flowers better, you should pay more attention to the small details of your flowers.
