What to Do When Radermachera sinica Leaves Droop? Cause Analysis and Solutions
1. Increase Light
Radermachera sinica prefers sunlight. If it is kept in a place without sunlight for a long time, its leaves will droop even when water and nutrients are sufficient, so light exposure should be appropriately increased. If conditions allow, it can be placed in sunlight year-round; if conditions do not allow, then it should be placed in sunlight for at least 3 hours a day.
2. Reduce Watering
Although Radermachera sinica relatively prefers a humid environment, this does not mean the potting soil can be excessively wet for a long time (except for hydroponic ones), and there should be no water accumulation in the pot either. Otherwise, its roots will be unable to normally absorb water and nutrients, and the leaves will also be unable to grow normally, gradually drooping and losing their vitality. At this point, stop watering, and only resume watering once the top 1 cm of the potting soil is fairly dry.
3. Natural Phenomenon
During the wintering period, when the difference between high and low temperatures is too great, when the indoor temperature is on the low side, or when indoor ventilation is poor in winter, Radermachera sinica is prone to leaf drooping. This is a normal natural response. It only needs routine care.
4. Repotting and Acclimation
Repotting and acclimation can also cause the leaves of Radermachera sinica to droop, but there is no need to worry. This is because when repotting it, the roots are inevitably damaged to some degree, which is why the leaves droop. At this point, simply place the plant in a spot with plenty of sunlight and let it slowly recover.
