What to Do If the Goldfish Plant Won't Bloom? Causes and Solutions
1. Increase light
For the goldfish plant, sunlight is an essential factor in the growth process. While receiving light, the plant itself is also storing energy, and before this plant blooms it needs plenty of sunlight to ensure normal blooming; its flowering period is winter, so there is no need to worry about the roots being burned by the sun, and it can be placed in a sunny spot all day, so that not only will the flowers be numerous but the flower color will also be very vivid. However, in the other three seasons, appropriate shading is needed.
2. Increase water
The goldfish plant enters a dormant state in winter, but only for a short period, after which it will bloom, yet at this time many people reduce watering. In fact, watering should be increased at this time, as long as there is no water accumulation in the pot; the temperature should be controlled at around 20°C. This will make it easier for it to bloom, and it will bloom more fully. Besides watering, you should also frequently spray some water around the plant or on the leaves. An overly dry environment will cause it to drop leaves and will also affect its blooming.
3. Increase air circulation
In winter, indoor air circulation is generally poor, which also has a certain impact on this plant's blooming. Especially during its flower bud growth, if air circulation is too poor, it will cause it to pause growth, and ultimately no flowers will bloom.
4. Increase nutrients
Many friends, when growing flowers, know to fertilize on time the first year, but by the second year they put it out of their minds. When nutrients are insufficient, the flower buds also cannot grow normally. Before blooming, increase the application of phosphorus fertilizer; but once it is blooming, do not fertilize anymore.
