Reasons for Yellowing Leaves on the Lucky Money Tree and Solutions
1. Pause Fertilization
(1) Specific cause: This aspect includes two situations, one is too much quantity, and the other is too high concentration; both can cause fertilizer damage, leading to yellowing leaves and even death in severe cases.
(2) Solution: Once discovered, immediately pause fertilization. Then, rinse the plant with clean water. After it returns to normal, resume normal fertilization.
2. Provide Scattered Light
(1) Specific cause: Light that is too strong or too weak is both problematic. If the Lucky Money Tree is exposed to direct sunlight, the leaves may be scorched and then turn yellow. If the light is too dim, chlorophyll cannot form, which can likewise cause the green color of the leaves to gradually fade and disappear.
(2) Solution: If the light is too strong, first place it in a more shaded spot for a period of time; if the light is too weak, place it in a brighter spot. Overall, giving it scattered light is best.
3. Replace the Soil
(1) Specific cause: This plant prefers slightly acidic soil. If alkaline soil is used, the leaves may turn yellow and fall off.
(2) Solution: Spray with ferrous sulfate at a concentration of 0.2% to 0.5%, which can turn the leaves green again. After that, replace the soil with acidic soil when repotting.
4. Lower the Temperature and Control Watering
(1) Specific cause: Under conditions of high temperature, high humidity, and poor ventilation, the leaves can also turn yellow. It is especially common in summer.
(2) Solution: First, take measures to lower the temperature. In addition, do not water too much; judge by observing the state of the soil and water again after the soil dries out. Also, pay attention to frequent ventilation.
