What to Do When Asparagus Fern Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
1. Increase watering
Cause: Not watering the asparagus fern for a long time will cause the plant to lack water. Once it lacks water, a series of physiological reactions, including respiration, cannot proceed normally, thus causing yellow leaves.
Solution: Give it some water, and afterwards water it according to scientific methods.
2. Reduce watering
Cause: Watering the asparagus fern too much causes water to accumulate in the soil, damaging its roots, making it difficult for them to absorb nutrients, which causes the leaves to lack nutrients and turn yellow.
Solution: Loosen the soil of the asparagus fern, then elevate the pot and place it in a ventilated spot to let the soil dry out. Afterwards, water it at the right time and in the right amount, and do not water too much at once.
3. Repot it with new soil
Cause: The growth of the asparagus fern requires absorbing nutrients from the soil. If it has not been repotted for too long, the nutrients in the soil will all have been absorbed by it. Without sufficient nutrient supply, its leaves will turn yellow.
Solution: Repot the asparagus fern with fresh, nutrient-rich soil.
4. Reduce light exposure
Cause: In midsummer the light intensity is very high. If the asparagus fern is exposed to the sun for a long time at this time, it will be sunburned by the sunlight, and the leaves will begin to turn yellow.
Solution: Move the asparagus fern into the room for care, and do not let it be exposed to direct sunlight.
