Reasons for Yellowing Leaves on the Peace Lily Tree and How to Fix Them

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
There are many reasons why the leaves of a peace lily tree turn yellow: if it is caused by temperatures that are too low, then raise the temperature; if it is caused by overwatering, then dry out the soil and reduce the frequency of watering. If it is caused by unsuitable soil, then repot it with nutrient-rich soil; if it is caused by sunburn, then remove the yellow leaves and place it indoors in a spot with partial shade for care.

1. Raise the temperature

Cause: When the temperature is relatively low in winter and it is not kept warm in time, its leaves may suffer frost damage and turn yellow.

Solution: Before the temperature drops in winter, move it indoors first. If it has already suffered frost damage, remove the yellow leaves and provide it with a warm growing environment.

2. Reduce watering

Cause: Usually watering the peace lily tree too much will cause water to accumulate in the soil. If the accumulated water cannot drain away in time, it will damage the plant's roots, preventing them from absorbing nutrients from the soil normally. Lacking a supply of nutrients, the leaves of the peace lily tree will also turn yellow.

Solution: Do not water the peace lily tree too much normally. If you have already watered it too much, place the flowerpot in a ventilated spot and let the wind dry out the soil, then reduce the frequency of watering.

3. Replace the soil

Cause: To save costs, some merchants do not use good soil to grow peace lily trees and may even mix some impurities into the soil. After a long time in this inferior soil, the peace lily tree cannot absorb enough nutrients, and its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Repot the peace lily tree with some nutrient-rich soil.

4. Provide shade at the right time

Cause: In summer, when the light intensity is relatively high, if it is directly exposed to strong light, its leaves may be scorched and turn yellow.

Solution: In summer, take certain shading measures for it. If it has already been scorched, move it to an indoor spot with partial shade, remove the yellowed leaves, and care for it slowly.
