What to Do When Aloe Vera Leaves Turn Yellow? Causes and Solutions
1. Spray Water to Increase Humidity
Cause: Aloe vera is a typical moisture-loving plant and will grow very well in a relatively moist environment, but if it stays too long in a dry environment, it will be unable to grow normally, and its leaves will also show signs of turning yellow.
Solution: When the place where the aloe vera is kept is too dry, certain measures should be taken to increase the air humidity, such as placing a basin full of clean water around it, spraying some water mist on its leaves, and so on.
2. Control Watering
Cause: Although aloe vera loves moisture, it is equally afraid of waterlogging and cannot grow normally in overly moist soil. This is because overly moist soil has a very high water content, which reduces the oxygen content, thereby affecting the respiration of the roots. When root respiration is inhibited, the plant cannot normally absorb nutrients from the soil, and the leaves will turn yellow due to the lack of nutrient supply.
Solution: If the situation is not very serious, you can loosen the soil of the aloe vera to increase the oxygen content in the soil and allow the water in the soil to evaporate quickly. If the situation is more serious, you need to take the plant out of the soil, then clean away the rotten roots, and replant it in freshly mixed soil.
3. Fertilize in Time
Cause: Although aloe vera is not particularly fond of fertilizer, not fertilizing for a long time will also cause it to lack nutrients and make it difficult for it to grow normally.
Solution: First apply some diluted fertilizer to it, not too much at one time, and after its condition improves somewhat, fertilize it according to proper methods.
