"Wanvisa" (the Chinese transliteration of "Wanvisa"), the world champion water lily, is a hardy water lily jointly bred by Thai and Japanese water lily experts, and the number of varieties is very limited. At the annual meeting and new variety competition of the International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society held in the United States in September 2010, it took both top honors at once: champion of new hardy water lily varieties and overall grand champion of new water lily varieties.

Wanvisa

In August 2011, the only "Wanvisa" plant in China, introduced from Thailand by Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden, bloomed. With purplish-red petals, creamy yellow and pale white radial stripes, and flowers scattering light like Buddha's halo, this was the first time "Wanvisa" met visitors in China, and its bloom drew many visitors who stopped to admire it.

Bicolor Wanvisa

This "Wanvisa" was gifted by Thai water lily expert Dr. Nopchai Chansilpa. Through the careful cultivation and care of the research staff at Chenshan Botanical Garden, "Wanvisa" finally unveiled its mysterious veil to the many visitors. Amid their amazement, visitors used their cameras to record its "appearance."
