Caring for potted cacti and succulents: how to get sunlight, watering and fertilizing right:

As ornamental plants for living spaces, succulents are the most suitable lazy-person plants. Remember, during dormancy do not fertilize or repot, and you must also reduce watering. Cacti and succulents suit plenty of sunlight. In terms of cultivation and care, wait until the surface soil of the pot is dry, then water thoroughly once, and keep drainage smooth to avoid waterlogging.

When a succulent has grown bigger, how do you help it change pots:

When repotting, you can use an airy, drainage-friendly potting mix plus some small gravel, and use a pot with good drainage. Remember you must use new potting mix, and do not plant deeply. After planting, wait a few days before watering, to avoid roots damaged during repotting being soaked by water and giving pathogens an opening. Repotting a cactus: take the plant out, trim off some old roots, leaving only roots 1~2 cm long, place it in a cool, ventilated spot, and plant it once the wounds have dried. Repotting a succulent: take the plant out and shake off the old soil as much as possible, remove dead leaves and old leaves, then plant it anew.

Succulents and cacti: how should you choose them when buying:

To choose healthy plants, pay attention to several key points: 1. Choose plants with plump, healthy stems and leaves; 2. Carefully choose plants whose stems and leaves have the colors characteristic of the variety; 3. Check whether the plant is affected by pests or diseases; 4. Check whether the plant has water damage or disease spots; 5. Check whether the plant is leggy, and avoid choosing unhealthy plants that are hard to care for after you take them home.

Why Nepenthes does not grow pitchers:

Nepenthes likes a hot, humid environment. In low temperatures its growth stalls, so no new insect-catching pitchers grow, and if a cold snap hits it may even suffer frost damage. So in winter it is best to place it in a wind-sheltered spot and reduce watering frequency to help it overwinter. Summer is the season of vigorous growth for Nepenthes; give it plenty of light and a humid environment, and do not apply fertilizer, because with ample nutrients there is no need for it to grow insect-catching pitchers.

Cute coffee bean seed potted plants: when do they need transplanting:

Seed potted plants use dense planting to limit the growth of each seedling. If cared for well, they are fine to view for over 1 year, but if you want to see them flower and fruit, then you must transplant them; after all, it is a relatively tall woody plant. Transplanted coffee tree potted plants are very suitable for growing on a balcony. Early spring is a good time to transplant: choose sturdy small seedlings and plant them in a pot with ample soil, one plant per pot. Start with a 5-cun pot; if it grows well, change to a pot one size larger in early autumn of the same year to promote growth.
