I believe many flower lovers like to place a few potted plants at home to make it look more lively, but when choosing indoor flower potted plants, you still need to pay some attention, because some potted plants are not suitable for indoor cultivation. So what are the common flowers not suitable for indoor cultivation? Why?

1. Mimosa

Everyone is surely familiar with mimosa. The reason people like it is probably that its leaves fold up after being touched, giving a shy feeling. However, many people may not know that it is actually mildly toxic. If touched frequently, it may irritate the skin and cause allergic symptoms, so it is best not to keep it indoors.

2. Chinese rose

Actually, Chinese roses are sun-loving plants by nature and are not very suitable for indoor cultivation, but there is another important reason: many Chinese rose varieties have a fragrance, with varying degrees of intensity. If indoor ventilation is poor, living in this floral fragrance environment for a long time can make people feel chest tightness and nausea. So it is still not recommended to keep Chinese roses indoors. If you really want to grow Chinese roses indoors, choose those with little or no fragrance or a light fragrance, and make sure the indoor ventilation is good.

3. Corn poppy

The corn poppy has rich, brilliant flower colors, and I believe many people like it very much. It belongs to the Papaveraceae family and has high medicinal value, but the whole plant contains toxins, especially the fruit. If it is kept indoors and children in the home accidentally eat it, it can cause central nervous system dysfunction, and in severe cases may endanger life, so it is best not to cultivate it indoors. However, the corn poppy, like the Chinese rose, is sun-loving by nature and is not very suitable for indoor planting.

4. Tulips, geraniums

Tulips and geraniums both have very strong fragrances. If the indoor ventilation is poor, staying in such an environment for a long time can cause dizziness, mental fog, and chest tightness. Geranium leaves may also cause skin allergies after contact with the skin, so they are not recommended for indoor planting.

Many people probably grow green plants such as dumb cane, lucky bamboo, and poinsettia indoors. I will not say whether they are suitable or not. What to note is that the sap of these green plants is toxic, so indoor cultivation requires attention. If there are children in the home, keep an eye on them. Do not let mischievous kids touch or accidentally eat them, as that would be bad.
