Lucky bamboo is thin and yellow and grows slowly; add a little of this to the water and it will grow like crazy and bloom with fragrance

Lucky bamboo has straight stems and delicate, graceful leaves, full of poetic charm. Because since ancient times there has been the saying "when flowers bloom, wealth and honor arrive; when bamboo is reported, peace prevails," many people like to grow it, placing a pot or a bunch at home to cultivate character and please the eye.
1. Choosing lucky bamboo
If you want it to grow healthily and tall, first you must carefully compare when choosing bamboo seedlings, and try to choose relatively thick lucky bamboo, as these are easier to grow. You should also choose a good season to grow it. Because lucky bamboo fears cold, it is best not to buy it in winter, as it is too troublesome to grow then; all other seasons are fine. Spring is most suitable for its growth, with suitable temperatures and soft sunlight, so it is easier to keep alive when bought.
2. Use soil culture
Lucky bamboo likes a moist and shady environment. It can be grown in soil or in water. With soil culture, growth is generally better. Choose loose, fertile paddy soil, or well-drained humus soil or sandy soil to grow it. After planting, place it in a shaded spot, or a spot with a little scattered light, and keep the potting soil moist with smooth drainage. Because the soil contains more nutrients, the lucky bamboo stems are thick and strong, the leaves are glossy green, and it grows very fast.
3. Use water culture
For hydroponic lucky bamboo, first let tap water sit and air out thoroughly, then cut off the leaves at the base of the lucky bamboo, and cut the base at a slant with a knife. The cut should be smooth, which helps the lucky bamboo absorb water and nutrients. Add water to one third or two thirds of the bottle, change the water every three or four days, and do not casually change its position or direction. In this way, in about fifteen days it will grow white water roots.
4. Fertilizing
After it has rooted, do not casually change its water; when the water runs low, just top it up. If you change the water too often, the leaves easily turn yellow and the plant is not vigorous. After rooting, also add a small amount of diluted mixed fertilizer solution or a dedicated nutrient solution to the water, which helps its leaves stay glossy and its stems thick and strong. Long-term lack of fertilizer easily causes poor development of lucky bamboo, with weak thin stems and yellow leaves, like bean sprouts. When using fertilizer, do not use too much at one time, as it easily burns the roots. With water and fertilizer the seedlings are strong, and you need not worry that it will not grow; moreover, it will grow in very good condition!
5. Preventing diseases
Anthracnose, stem rot, leaf spot, and root rot: these diseases can cause the stem nodes of lucky bamboo to wither, the bamboo leaves to turn yellow, and in severe cases lead to the death of the entire lucky bamboo. Therefore, usually be sure to pay attention to the amount and quality of water. When diseased plants are found, remove them promptly and disinfect and sterilize promptly to avoid more lucky bamboo becoming infected and dying.
When lucky bamboo is healthy, it has the strength to grow! With strong roots and thick stems, it shoots up and grows like crazy, filling the pot and needing a new bottle, bringing joy to the heart. Placed on the living room balcony, it is truly a lush green scenery! If it is soil-cultured lucky bamboo and well cared for, it will also produce beautiful flowers, especially elegant and fragrant. Lucky bamboo blooming is something you cannot ask for, and if it happens, your good luck is coming.
