In spring and summer, you just can't resist the urge to get your hands dirty. For example, after the first wave of spring flowers on your roses at home finishes, you feel an irresistible urge to pull off the post-bloom branches and root them as cuttings, but not every cutting is guaranteed to succeed. That's when rooting solution comes in handy. Today I'll share a few homemade rooting solutions with relatively good results for your reference.

1. Mix up slightly sweet white sugar water

When you don't have rooting powder at home, you can simply dilute white sugar from the kitchen with cooled boiled water and use it to soak the cuttings. The sugar solution just needs to be slightly sweet. Put the branches you want to root in the sugar water and soak them for about one hour, then take them out and rinse them with clean water before using them for cuttings.

2. Vitamin B12 solution

Just go to the pharmacy and buy a box of vitamin B12 injection, dilute it with cooled boiled water at a ratio of 2:1, then put the branches you want to root in it and soak them for 10 minutes before using them for cuttings.

3. Vinegar

After diluting vinegar with clean water at a ratio of 1:100, soak the cuttings in it for 12 hours, and it can likewise greatly increase the rooting rate of the cuttings.

The above three are all homemade rooting solutions that I have personally tried and found relatively convenient and hassle-free. Gardeners trying cuttings this season may as well choose and use them according to their own actual situation. May all the flowers you root take root early, bloom, and fill their pots!
