For potted bougainvillea, you only need to do these 3 things, and it will bloom for over half the year and fill the pot with flowers

This season is exactly the blooming period for bougainvillea, but some growers' bougainvillea either fails to bloom or blooms sparsely. Seeing others' bougainvillea so full of flowers that they crowd the pot, are there any care tips? Today I'll share some tips on how to grow potted bougainvillea well, for your reference.
1. Bougainvillea is drought-tolerant. To get it to bloom well, during the bud-forming period in April and May, we need to learn to control water to force flowering
Bougainvillea water control method: In late spring and early summer, stop watering the potted bougainvillea for 15-20 days, so the potting soil becomes slightly dry and the leaves may show signs of wilting. After 20 days of water control, water thoroughly once, and you will find the bougainvillea's flower buds starting to grow out continuously.
2. Ensure sufficient light
Bougainvillea loves light. Ensure at least 4 hours of light per day. When caring for bougainvillea, be sure to place it in the sunniest spot at home, and combine this with water control in the earlier stage, so it is more likely to form more buds
3. Fertilizing
If you have done the previous 2 points and your bougainvillea still does not bloom, apply a supplementary phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. The simplest way is to buy some monopotassium phosphate, mix it with water directly, and water the roots with it once every ten days.
If you do all three of the above, your bougainvillea will bloom more and more. For potted bougainvillea, we generally suggest adding some eggshells to the soil when planting, as they can supply phosphorus fertilizer over the long term and promote blooming.
