Pothos stays green through all four seasons and can be enjoyed year-round. Some flower lovers have trained their pothos so well it practically becomes a spirit, climbing up the walls, and it makes you quite envious to see pothos raised so well. Below, let's take a look at the complete guide to pothos care.

Pothos cultivation methods:

(1). Soil culture and soil selection

For pothos, choosing soil culture is relatively better. The soil chosen needs to be fertile; you can add animal manure to the soil to increase fertility, and fine broken dead leaves to make the soil loose and breathable.

(2). Hydroponic pothos

Hydroponic pothos is shade-tolerant; keep it in a sunny spot indoors for care. In a long-term cool and shady place it will develop yellow leaves and grow poorly, so move it to a bright environment and let it slowly recover, change the water frequently, and maintain water quality.

(3). Light

Pothos is a shade-tolerant plant, but it also needs light. Keep it in a bright, indirect-light environment for care, which is good for pothos growth. Avoid harsh sun exposure.

(4). Fertilizing

During the growing season, pothos should be given more fertilizer, mainly nitrogen, with an appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. You can apply 15%-20% decomposed cake fertilizer liquid. From spring to early summer, fertilize once every 10-15 days; from summer to early autumn, fertilize once every 20 days; in autumn, fertilize once every 10-15 days; in winter, spray the leaves every 20-30 days with a 0.1%-0.2% urea solution to keep the pothos leaves green and glossy.

(5). Watering

In spring, summer, and autumn, keep the potting soil moist, but do not let water accumulate in the pot, as this will rot the roots and withered leaves. In spring and late autumn, water once every 2-3 days. In summer, water once a day, and frequently spray the leaves and the surrounding ground to maintain air humidity. In winter, water again after the soil dries, and spray the leaves every 3-5 days to keep them clean and glossy.

(6). Temperature

In the winter in the north, keeping the room temperature above 10°C is enough to get through the winter well, and above 20°C it grows normally.

Precautions for pothos

(1). Pothos leaves turn yellow and fall off, and the stems rot at the same time, because of too much watering; the pot needs to be changed in time.

(2). Pothos leaves become smaller: because of insufficient fertilizer or light, so topdress in time and place it in a place with sufficient light.

(3). There are yellow spots on the leaves and the leaf edges turn brown: insufficient watering; replenish water in time and keep it moist.

(4). Leaves become soft and bent, and the stems also show rot: the temperature is too low; control the temperature well, as below 10°C it will affect growth.

(5). Leaf tips curl and turn withered brown: the air is too dry; spray the leaves frequently to maintain humidity.
