Choosing a pot and soil. It is best to use a clay pot with good water and air permeability, and the size should be chosen according to the size of the seedling. Generally, for 2-3 year old seedlings, it is best to choose a clay pot with a diameter and depth of about 30 cm. The soil can be mixed in a ratio of 1/3 leaf mold, 1/3 garden soil and 1/3 coarse sand.

Yi Hong Yuan

Digging, transplanting and potting. Generally in February to March of spring, dig out the roses planted in the ground, cut off old roots and injured roots, place tiles at the bottom of the pot, mix in an appropriate amount of rotted base fertilizer, put the rose seedling in, fill the prepared potting soil around it, press it firm, leave a rim, water thoroughly, place it in a cool place to recover for 7-10 days, then place it in a ventilated and sunny place and move to normal care.

Watering and fertilizing. When watering, the principle is that the potting soil should be dry at a depth of 2 cm; when watering, water thoroughly. The time and frequency of watering should be determined according to the season and whether it is cloudy or clear. Follow Ai Mu Bonsai, and play with bonsai together with Ai Mu. It is best to water with rainwater or snow water. If tap water is used, it should be left to stand until it is close to the temperature of the potting soil before watering. In summer, water in the morning or evening. During the plum rain season or long rainy days, do not let water accumulate in the flower pot; if there is accumulated water, pour it out immediately.

Canary

Roses like fertilizer, but do not fertilize within one month after transplanting, so as not to burn the roots. After that, there are two fertilizing methods: first, apply rotted fertilizer water, following the principle of applying thin fertilizer frequently, about once every half a month, together with watering. Follow Ai Mu Bonsai, and play with bonsai together with Ai Mu. Second, use an iron rod to make 3-4 holes in the flower pot and apply fertilizer cakes, once a month, about 50-100 grams each time according to the size of the flower pot. Stop fertilizing in winter and summer.

Huang He Ping

Pruning. Pruning is an important part of the rose growing process. After each flowering, promptly cut off the faded flowers, leaving 2-4 leaf nodes. Generally, leave 3-7 branches per pot; leave tall branches shorter and low branches longer. After pruning, they can bloom again in 50-70 days.

Red Double Delight

Pest and disease control. Rose pests include aphids, red spiders, scale insects, etc. You can use 80% dichlorvos or 40% dimethoate diluted 1500-2000 times, spray once a week, and they can be eliminated in 1-2 weeks. Follow Ai Mu Bonsai, and play with bonsai together with Ai Mu. However, ants will continue to carry aphids onto the rose plants, so the ants must be eliminated at the same time.

Cai Yun

Common rose diseases are powdery mildew and black spot, and they mostly occur in the humid rainy season. Therefore, during the rainy season, spray once every half a month with 50% carbendazim wettable powder made into a 500-1000 times solution. Bordeaux mixture or lime sulfur mixture can also be used.
