Visiting a friend's home, I saw a beautiful hydroponic plant, with lots of white roots floating in a pretty glass bottle, and lush green leaves outside. At first I did not recognize it, but it turned out to be a sweet potato from the kitchen, a vegetable turned into a potted plant, and so beautiful!

Hydroponic sweet potatoes are very simple. We can choose some plump, well-shaped sweet potatoes without damage, or directly choose sweet potatoes that have already sprouted. Soak the larger end in water, and do not let more than 1/3 of it be submerged. In about 3 days, you will see some white roots emerging.

When the sweet potato has grown plenty of white roots, we should lift the whole sweet potato out and no longer keep it submerged in the water. At this point, only the roots need to be in the water. This can prevent the lower part of the sweet potato from rotting over time and affecting its appearance.

After that, there is no need to change the water every day. When you see the water in the bottle getting low, just remember to top it up. Keep it in a spot with indirect light for normal care, and it will grow crisp green leaves.

One advantage of hydroponic sweet potatoes is that no fertilizer is needed. Just adding water is enough for them to grow well. If you want the leaves to grow fast and green, you can also occasionally let it get some sun.

If the sweet potato leaves grow plentiful and large enough, you can also pinch some off to eat and give it a trim at the same time. It is not only easy to grow, but also especially nice to look at. Just remember to find a pretty bottle to grow it in, and it instantly becomes stylish!
